Tutoring can make a profound difference.  In my case, I struggled with math throughout high school.  In my first semester of college, a tutor immediately identified my problem and explained away years of frustration and confusion

As a tutor, I have done the same for my clients.  I helped a college student who considered herself the "worst math student in the world" to get straight A's in her college math classes.  I never did a single homework problem for her.  I explained concepts and she worked out her own problems.

I've helped a middle school boy to improve his reading by 4 grade levels and his math by 7 grade levels.  His success is not measured only in numbers.  He has progressed out of special education classes and into regular classes.  Now, he is developing self-confidence and a positive attitude about school and life in general.

Tozer Tutoring does not own a tutoring facility.  We send our tutors to you. Usually, a tutor would come to your home, but this is not a requirement. I've tutored students at libraries, coffee shops, bookstores, restaurants and even outside at a park. The point really is to meet you where effective learning can take place.

Rates depend on a variety of factors, but almost never exceed $35/hr.  It depends on the subject being tutored, the distance the tutor must travel to meet with you and the tutor's pay requirements.

Our rates are competitive with other in-home tutoring companies and much, much lower than the big name tutoring centers.

Clients who use the referral program can earn reduced rates or even free tutoring with enough referrals.

We do not have to pay for a tutoring facility. We also do not have any administrative staff. We also pay almost nothing for advertising. This is possible through our efficient and automated computer systems. Almost all other tutoring companies pay these overhead costs and pass the expense to their clients. We do not do this.

Yes, free tutoring is possible. Honestly, most people probably will not get free tutoring, but it is something that everybody could attain.

This is how it works.  For each person you refer to Tozer Tutoring who completes 5 hours of tutoring, we will reduce your rate by $2/hr.  It's our way of growing our business while you help yourself to a lower rate and help your friends as well.  With enough referrals, your tutoring could be free. 

We never ask you to sign contracts.  We will send you a welcome letter which will explain the tutoring procedures. Although we do not ask you to sign any contracts, we still ask you to abide by the terms in the letter.

No. You do not have to commit to any future sessions. Some students only need to meet with a tutor once to clear up questions while other meet several times a week.

There is one condition. If you plan a tutoring session with a tutor and decide not to meet, you must inform the tutor before he shows up; otherwise, we will bill you for the missed appointment.

You must pay for each tutoring session before the session or on the day of the session.  Some clients prefer to pay ahead.  This is fine with us.

You could mail a check to our address on the contact us page. You also could pay online through PayPal.  Even if you do not have a PayPal account, PayPal will let you pay by credit or debit card. See the Online Payments section of this website.

We will give you access to your tutor's online time sheet. You can see what your tutor records and read comments from the tutor. This sheet also keeps track of your payments,  hours tutored and hours remaining.

Yes. Suppose that you paid ahead and have 5 hours of tutoring left. If you discontinue the tutoring, we will immediately refund all of your unused tutoring money.

We want you to be 100% satisfied with your tutor. People have different teaching styles and different learning styles, so if your styles do not match, we hope you will let us know right away.  We will assign you to a new tutor.

After every tutoring session, we will e-mail you an electronic feedback form.  Your tutor will never see your response. It is short and simple.  It asks for the date of the tutoring session and your tutor's first name.  Then it allows you to rate the session from 1 to 10.  You can then write your comments if you desire.

I will review feedback everyday. If your tutor is not scoring well with you, I will try to correct the situation or find a replacement tutor.
