Tozer Tutoring is an in-home tutoring service.

We do not own a learning center or any tutoring facility. Tutoring will take place in the comfort of your own home, or another place of your choice. We have tutored in coffee shops, libraries and even bookstores. By coming to you, we save a ton of money in overhead and administrative costs. By keeping costs down, we can pass the savings to you. Compared to other professional tutoring services, it's nearly impossible to beat our prices.

Our tutors have impressive backgrounds. Some are school teachers, others have years of tutoring experience, some have Master's degrees and/or PhD's, many have educations from top tier colleges (Ivy League included), some have taught college classes, some have won national awards in their fields of expertise, some are published scholars and all can do an outstanding job helping you or your child to learn.

Tozer Tutoring is not a homework service.

We do not ever want to do a student's homework. It would be dishonest and it would be cheating the student out of the learning experience. In fact, we ask that all homework is attempted before the tutoring session begins. That way the student can see where he or she needs help. Then, we can concentrate on problem areas during the session.

Tozer Tutoring believes in taking the student back to the basics.

In our professional experience, when a student has an obstacle to learning, the problem often can be corrected by going back to the basics to rebuild a firm foundation.  Once the foundation is laid, then students can competently work through the material.

We focus on understanding concepts -- not memorizing facts.

Students who have a firm grasp of fundamental concepts often can retain their knowledge for years after the class ends. They can relate their understanding to other similar applications, make connections and even apply their knowledge in practical ways.  Students who memorize facts often forget them.
